5 BOOKS FOR THE GROWN-UPS ON YOUR LIST…(or to put in your
own stocking!!)
Peace Pilgrim
Author: Peace Pilgrim
Run, don’t walk, to get this book! In the many years since I first
read Embraced, I have found very few books that contain comparable
truth that speaks to your soul. This is one of them. You can get it at
major bookstores or acquire free copies through peacepilgrim.org. This
is a perfect book to buy for yourself to read over the holidays, and
then give copies to all your friends. :)
The Soul’s Remembrance
Author: Roy Mills
Everyone I know who reads this book loves it. Roy Mills is blessed to
remember his pre-birth experiences. In this book, Roy shares what
he was shown in heaven before his earth-life regarding his life’s
purpose and the subsequent life he has led (complete with challenges
and miracles) in the pursuit of fulfilling his God-given mission. In
Roy’s words, “Life does have a purpose – and
that purpose is love.” Like Embraced, this book is a wonderful
tool on our path to loving unconditionally.
Embraced By The Light Audio Cassette Version –
(for the car!)
Author: Betty J. Eadie
Step away from your busy life the moment you put this tape in and listen
to the soothing voice of Betty J. Eadie as she shares the loving truths
of Embraced By The Light. Listen any time for a lift as you drive,
exercise or work around the house. There is something indescribably special
about hearing the book in Betty’s voice. (The Awakening Heart
and The Ripple Effect are also available on audio.)
Embraced By The Light Prayers & Devotions for Daily Living
Author: Betty J. Eadie
I love this book! It is the best devotional book I have found, with 365
inspiring, themed quotes from Betty’s books, a bible verse, a prayer
and an affirmation for each day.
Embraced By The Light
Author: Betty J. Eadie
Give this soul-awakening book to friends, family, a local hospice, nursing
home, grief center or prison. Just follow your heart and there may be
no limit to the lives you can bless with EBTL!
5 BOOKS FOR THE LITTLE ONES ON YOUR LIST
Emma and Mommy Talk to God
Author: Marianne Williamson
Well-known author and speaker Marianne Williamson wrote this wonderful
and beautifully illustrated picture book. It touches children and parents
alike with its positive message of how Emma uses prayer when faced with
life’s challenges to bring about wonderful results! This book is
ideal for ages 4-8; it would make a wonderful gift for a little girl
on your list. This has been a favorite bedtime story of my own daughter.
You Are Special
Author: Max Lucado
This beautifully illustrated picture book packs a tremendously positive
message for 5-9 year olds. It is about not letting the negative comments
of others bring you down, and how God loves each of us exactly as we
are because He made us, and he doesn’t make mistakes. Heck, many
adults would benefit from reading this one!
The Quiltmaker’s Gift
Author: Jeff Brumbeau
This award-winning picture book is about a king who learns that true
joy comes from giving rather than getting. In our day and age, when materialism
clouds much of the celebration of Christmas for many, this book carries
a much-needed message for children and the adults who read to them.
Animal Miracles
Authors: Brad Steiger & Sherry Hansen Steiger
This collection of inspirational and heroic true stories is a wonderful
bedtime book for a parent to read to a child (ages 6+). Children love
to hear animal stories, and these miraculous stories reinforce the important
role animals play in our lives. The stories also teach children that
miracles are entirely possible as they begin to be introduced to the
divine-synchronicity principle that makes ‘miracle stories’
so fascinating. Parents will enjoy this one as much as their children!
Good Night God
Author: Holly Bea Weaver
This is a wonderful picture book for small children ages 2-5. It reads
as a bedtime prayer that acknowledges all of God’s beautiful creations,
leaving children with wonderfully warm thoughts of God before bedtime.
Other great titles from this awesome author are Bless Your Heart
and Thank You God. They are both books that emphasize gratitude
and giving thanks to God.
