WAVES
A Poem by Amanda Titus
I’ve never seen your face, never held your hand
I’ve never heard your voice but somehow you always understand
I’ve never held you close or shared a hug with you
But from the moment that we met, I knew your love was true
I’ve never seen you smile, yet I’ve felt it many times
And I’ve never heard you sing but your words fill my world with chimes
I’ve never met your family, I know not personally your friends
But somehow I love them too and know our bond never ends
We don’t meet on the weekends or have lunch in the afternoon
But I often run to you saying I need to get to my computer soon
I’ve never seen your expression when you write but I often picture it in my mind
Each day I look forward to just what I may find
I’ve never felt such friendship, never know such love
I’ve never thought I’d find such a gift that was sent from above
I’ve never met an angel until the day I came here
But the instance that I did I lost all my sense of fear
We together form a family like no other here on earth
I now know that we were destined long before our human birth
Each day a new beginning of the road our Lord paves
Forever we are warring angels united in this heaven we call WAVES
