...I knew that God had placed them there
as warring angels...who believed in God and loved him enough
to give their lives to his service. -- The Awakening Heart by

| Soul Scent |
| by Bud Lemire |
 |
 |
(Originally appeared as a post on the WAVES Board on January 4, 2005)
Even though you know where their spirit went
When they come around, you can smell their soul scent
A smell that could be anything
That only their soul can bring
Though it seems they're in a far away land
It's beside you, that they do stand
Smell the odor, coming to your nose
It could be a lilac, or maybe a rose
Something to arouse your senses, something distinct
Someone you've known, who has a close link
Maybe a cigar they smoked, or a fish
Possibly a soap they used, or black licorice
Maybe a perfume that they use to wear
To let you know that they are there
Maybe some food that they used to eat
Or something as smelly as their stinky feet
Something that is familiar to you
So you'll know it's them coming through
The Soul Scent coming to your nose
To let you know that Heaven always knows
