If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels,
but have not love,
I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy

and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have a faith that can move mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor
and surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love,
I gain nothing.

Love is patient,

love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.

It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil

but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.

Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7

A Love Letter From Jesus

My little child, I love you. (John 15:9)

I have called you by your name,
you are mine.

(Isaiah 43:1)

Before I formed you, I knew you.
And before you were born, I consecrated you
.
(Jeremiah 1:5)

You did not choose me, I chose you.
(John15:16)

Beloved,
I wish above all things that you prosper
and be in good health,
even as your soul prospers.

(3rd John 2)

Because you are precious to me,
and honored,
I love you.

(Isaiah 43:4)

I have loved you with an everlasting love
and I will continue my Constant love.

(Jeremiah 31:3)

How can I abandon you?
My love for you is too strong.
(Hosea 11:8)

I love you so much
that I hung on the cross at Calvary.
I died for you,
and if you believe in Me
you will have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)

Can a woman forget her own baby
and not love the child she bore?
Yet, even should she forget,
I will never forget you.
I cannot forget you.
See, I have graven you in the palm of my hands.
(Isaiah 49:15-16
)

For I,
the Lord your God,
am holding you by the right hand
.
(Isaiah 41:13)

I am with you always until the end of the world.
(Matthew 28: 20)

Do not let your heart be troubled,
trust in me.
(John 14:1)

I will be with you.
Your troubles will not overwhelm you.
The hard trials that will come will not hurt you.

for I am merciful.

(Psalm 33:18)

You will have access to my grace
and rejoice in hope while sharing in the glory of my Father.

(Romans 5:2)

I will give you joy and peace.
The mountains and hills will sing,
and the trees will clap their hands before you.

(Isaiah 55:12)

You may have sorrow now,
but I will see you again,
and your heart will rejoice
and no one will take your joy from you.

(John 16:22)

Do not worry.
(Luke 12:9)

Even the hairs of your head have all been counted,
so there is no need to be afraid of anything.

(Matthew 10:30)

all ye that labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.

(Matthew 11:28)

Come, my love.
(Solomon 2:10)

I will lead you into solitude
and there I will speak tenderly to your heart.

I will be true and faithful.
I will show you constant love and make you mine forever.
I will keep my promise,
and you will really know me then as never before.

(Hosea 1:14, 19-20)

I am who I am.
(Exodus 3:14)

I am the Lord your God.
(Hosea 13:4)

Jesus Christ,
Your Savior

This is our first Newsletter to highlight Valentines Day, and we are pleased to create it with the greatest love we can give. Our WAVES Family is a most incredible one, if you are not actively involved I encourage you to join us especially on Sundays and Wednesdays for our WAVES Circle of Prayer. Many people are struggling, right now, and our world needs healing too. Come pray with us, your love combined with ours in prayer is great enough to make a difference! I am grateful to God for each one of you, and for this opportunity to say that I love you!

My Experience of Love
by Sonia R. Rogers

I come from a less than perfect background in many ways: alcoholism, severe depression, childhood abuse, to name a few of my challenges. I reveal this only because, with my whole heart, I want others who are struggling, who feel in the darkness, to know that change is real, we really can overcome our challenges and grow in that love and light we so desire!

I think the seed of purest love was planted the first time I read Embraced By The Light but did not really begin to grow until after I joined WAVES. Shortly after I signed up, I found myself earnestly wanting to pray for Betty, for my fellow WAVES, for my loved ones, and for the difficulties that I saw upon our world—and I felt very inadequate! One day Betty posted on the WAVES Board that love could be as powerful as prayer. Though I felt my prayers were lacking, I took hope from her words—I did care!

Studying about prayer in our EBTL Study Forums, I learned that all prayers are answered and how we pray is not what matters. The most effective prayers are those that come from our heart. I wanted to learn how to make a difference, to do good through heartfelt prayers. I learned much more, but this was enough for me to begin to focus on love, through prayer, and thus begin expanding my own heart.

As time went on I studied much of Betty’s words through her books and her words in the study forums. I found myself growing to love her even more—and the truths in her books with even greater appreciation and understanding. And the love in my heart just continued to swell and expand! I found myself loving all around me with greater tolerance, greater ability to love without condition. The best part of all, I found myself beginning to feel a closeness to my Heavenly Father and my Savior that I had never felt before! Oh, how this did make my heart swell to even greater love!

Thank you, Betty, for our EBTL Study Forums! Thank you for so freely sharing all that you have been given. Thank you for every book, every word, every post, every second that you devote to teaching us of God’s eternal love! Through you I have begun to understand that love—which is not of this world, which the world does not understand, that love which is a gift from God—and is the most precious gift of all. Thank you for helping me to learn of God’s love for me, and of my own love for him!

In the forums we are able to explore Betty’s writings in greater depth, to share with one another, and learn together—it is an amazing experience! I am so thankful for all of the opportunities that I have to learn and grow today. And the love I feel in my heart, well, it makes my whole life worthwhile—challenges and all! I am glad for who I am and what my heart is able to feel and give today!

With all my heart and love,

Valentines Sent Beyond the Veil

I always tell people who want to know if they can contact their deceased loved ones that they can, and the way that I do it is to pray and ask God if it is necessary and if it is his will. –The Awakening Heart, page 192

Hi Mom,

Happy Valentine's Day.  I miss you so much it takes my breath away at times.  I thank God that when we are reunited it will feel as if no time has passed at all.  I am proud of you for completing your mission here because I know if it were not so, than our heavenly Father would not have taken you home to be with Him when he did.  Although my heart aches to be with you and hear your voice again, I know I can hear your heart and feel your unconditional love through the words I choose to speak to others.  I am learning so much Mom, I am so imperfect, I fall so often, but I can feel the blessings and encouragement from heaven even though they are not always obvious.  I believe they are reaching my heart.  I know your love for me lives on and is even more perfect than ever before.

I have to go now Mom, my mission is not complete, I have so much more to learn.  I look forward to the day when we are together again and I can rest my head on your shoulder, but now I must get back to work, this world needs so much love and prayers, there is much to be done.  Thank you for watching from above and rooting me on.

Loving you with my whole heart, every second of my existence Mom,
Renee'

Fred,

Darlin’  it was you who taught me to follow my heart.
I miss you.
I am so grateful I chose you for my dad,
I never told you that!
You taught me a lot, just being you.
I am so happy you and mom are together again in heaven.  I hope .you both have fun dancing with the angels!

I hope you have had time to spend with your favorite singer, Janis Joplin.

I feel you watching over me from time to time.  I miss you.  Someday we too will be together again

Happy valentines’ day!
Deedee

Ps  thank you for always showing me what unconditional love looked like…. Your love was never questioned. I am sorry mine was not always unconditional to you.

Dear Dad,

Just want to say that I love you
and thank you
for all you gave to us kids.

Please help all in our family who lack faith in God and an afterlife.

Love,
Henrietta

"You were chosen by the Father.
You were chosen to be our Mom.
Gentle mother, peaceful dove,

You taught us love."

Mary Heather

Dearest Mom,

Your love taught me what family is all about.  Although you are no longer on this earth, your love for us has never faded.
My love for you dear mom is stronger than ever. You are my hero, you are my mentor, but most importantly you will always be my loving mother.

It is my wish to pass on the love you have shown me.  May my children feel your love through me.  May my husband feel my love for him as I know you would want that for us.  May my extended family give me the gift of saying I remind them of you.  May my friends experience the compassion I have because of you.  May the world be a better place when I share my love through you dear mom.

The word LOVE simply means MOTHER to me.  Looking skyward, I send my love for you this very moment.

With whispers of peace,
Your loving daughter,
Bonnie

Extending Our Love to God's Creatures

The Newsletter Staff is delighted to present to you a few of our WAVE animal friends. We thought it appropriate, in a Special Edition of Love, to spend some time focusing on the wonderful love that we feel and learn through our darling pets. We are their special caregivers and they teach us so much about unconditional love. We are sure you will enjoy meeting each one!

Mato'la, Cali and Family Pets!
with Betty

Betty and Matola~

Mato'la means "Little Bear" in Lakota Sioux language. I named her Mato'la because, not only does she look like a bear, but from her birth she would burrow her little nose into my neck to nuzzle me and give me the tenderest “bear hugs” much like a koala bear would. I love to hold her and feel the rhythm of her heartbeat begin to match mine.

I have had many dogs in my life time. When they were gone they left a hole in my life, an empty space that could not be filled by any other animal. I still think lovingly about them, and recall every name as I do family who have passed on. My life would not have been complete without those little friends to share some time with.
Betty and Matola~

Cali was to be my grandson Zach's dog so he named her because he loves California! However, as often happens in families, Zach was busy in school and I had the pleasure of babysitting her. Overtime, she became my dog. Cali spent some time with my daughter Donna, then was returned to me when Donna moved and could no longer keep her. In the meantime, I had inherited Matola  from my  daughter Cheryl—so now, I have two dogs!

The funny thing is, Mato'la now only visits me on occasion because Cheryl babysat her and fell in love with her, so I agreed to "visitations!" Another funny part, both dogs seem to understand and willingly participate in all this. When they are with me I am clearly their owner in their minds! We all laugh at all "Mother's" pets - but I do love them and they have a good time with me. Cali is in full-time custody now. She was nearly mesmerized by our new snow and you can see her looking down and fascinated by it. Sometimes our pets show us the simple wonders of God’s creations!Betty and Matola~

I am often asked what happens to our pets when they die. I believe with all my heart that they too return to the Spirit World where I once visited to be with our Creator. All spirit is created by God our eternal Father, and all spirit will return to him. To me this includes our beloved pets. They will likely greet us when it is our time to be with God too. There is no greater thing to learn on earth then to love—love all creation. Sometimes it takes a furry little friend to open our hearts to experience and to learn of love. They are gifts from our Heavenly Father. How blessed we are!

Though you have likely seen this video, it appropriately speaks of love, loss and God's love and understanding.

Deep Bonds of Love
from Kristen

Sharon's Cleopatra

I don't think it's possible to love an animal too much and it is so difficult when we let go of our furry loved ones, as they pass on to the other side of Life. We love them so, and we want them here with us, for those special moments when we first wake up and see their wagging tails and bright eyes—and all the moments that warm our hearts as we feel their unconditional love.

As Betty speaks about in The Ripple Effect, "No emotional trauma distresses us more than the loss of a dear one, and so a proper understanding of death is vital to our emotional and spiritual well-being. Loneliness tests us to the breaking point and can lead us into despair if we let it. However, knowing where a loved one goes after death is important to our healing." (page 188)

I think that many pet owners experience guilt in one form or another when a pet passes on. And that journey through the guilt to realizing that we were a loving pet owner (and friend) who did the best we could, is part of what our pets are here to teach us.

I don't believe that any of us (including pets) ever pass over without it being our appointed time. And though, sometimes, it appears to be an 'accident', it is always within God's hands.

I feel that in our desire to love as our Creator loves, we naturally grow to love ALL creatures and even ourselves, more and more, as we realize the "Loveableness" of all living things, and especially those who share our intimate lives and become as family members to us.

Here is a video reminder of the deep bond shared between animal friends.  Enjoy the whole thing, it's less than 3 minutes. Our daughter Katie said, "they should play this during the superbowl!"

May all of us have friends like this in life!

Willow, Healer of Broken Hearts
and Vicki Kathleen

Vicki Kathleen and Willow~
Willow is my special friend and has been for nearly 17 years. We have fished and hiked together over many miles and mountain trails. She has done an 18K hike high up in the Waterton mountains twice and many other 'treks'. Those little legs of hers can really go!  She was forever waiting for me to get a move on already!

Vicki Kathleen and Willow~

I guess it is my turn because I carry her much of the time now on any hike or long walk. But she still loves to go camping! Willow is also known to heal many broken hearts, and gives love where ever she goes.  She even wins over 'cat lovers' hands down, and many are surprised at her bright and loving nature. She is one of a kind, and I will love her forever.

Thank you Willow, for being the perfect you!

WAVES Bird: Cheep-Cheep

from Eri Tamago

Cheep-Cheep~

A couple of my long-distance healer friends have pronounced Cheep "one of the most tenacious souls we've encountered!" And, even (or especially) having known other wonderful little birds, I would have to agree - he IS!

Well, I was both worried and relieved when I got home tonight. Worried because of the tired expression in his eyes, his balance and overall energy (definitely challenged today), more lost feathers, plus a new clot(?) in an old wound (did he chew it??).

That said, I'm also relieved because he's not tossing cookies (THANK YOU LORD, AND WAVES FOR THE PRAYERS!), and he actually asked for a little bath(!). (I went to the smaller and safer BATHROOM sink this time, which is good as he nearly fell off several times.) After blotting and blow drying him (I know, sounds like a handkerchief instead of a lovebird), I left him at his lamp to finish drying off and preen, and when I went to check on him, he was dutifully eating his seeds and now he's hiding under a sweatshirt.

I will be feeding him his baby food in a while with plenty of Bene-bac in it as a precaution.

I have been sitting here fretting (despite some big "wise" words to other people to let go and let God, blah blah), but yes, looking at what I just wrote, I am very thankful! Thank you for asking, and thank you for the prayers!

Cleopatra
from Sharon
Sharon's Cleopatra

Cleopatra, my kitty, I found at a San Jose Animal Rescue. She was about to be put to sleep because she had been there so long. Two older ladies begged me to take her. At that time, her name was Kandy. But I changed it to Cleopatra because she looks so much like an Egyptian queen (notice the haughty look in her eyes). Cleo, we guess, is seven years old.

Every night when I go to sleep, from day one "Cleo" curls up right below my nose and chin to sleep. She is a very sweet cat, and gets along with the other cat and three dogs in the house. Cleo follows me around constantly when I am home and sometimes she even will talk like a Siamese. When I ask her if I can pick her up, she'll say, “No, no,” in a sing song cat way. Her favorite time of day is breakfast and will come running when I open the cat food. She loves to play. She absolutely hates it when I pretend my hand is a spider and crawls towards her. She'll usually run away!! Oh, and she is a very good cockroach killer. You know, in Florida we have giant cockroaches in the garage—but not any more—thanks to Cleo!

Grandkitties

and Ann Angeldancing

Ann and Grandkitties~

Bonnie and Clyde were born on Betty's birthday, March 13, 2006. Daddy was Burmese and Mommy beautiful black. Clyde is chocolate Burmise with huge blue eyes. Bonnie is long hair black beauty with flashing green eyes, somewhat like Scarlett in Gone with the Wind. Both kids have the cutest turned up noses and absolutely adore one another. The twins have spent most of the past 12 months with "Gwanmama". They have integrated well as apartment cats and with the other three. Clyde is laid-back, shy, very large and loves to cuddle. Bonnie is quite vocal and doesn't like to cuddle. Bonnie has taken well to voice and hand signal commands. She seems extremely intelligent, high vibrating.

Bonnie and I have a special bond. She was injured when a few months old. Bill and I took her to the vet, they xrayed her left front leg. The elbow was completely pulled out of socket. Xrays were appalling. Vet gave us two options; surgery and pin that might not work, or, amputate. I held Bonnie on my lap, placing my hands over her wounded leg. And prayed. During the next few weeks I prayed for Bonnie while holding my own left elbow in proxy for her. We know the results. In a few months the leg was healed and strong. God cares about His creation. All of it. His eye is on the sparrow so we must know He watches us.

Isis & Xena - Light Giver & Warrior Princess
and Sonia Rae

Sonia Rae and Xena~

My son adopted and named Isis specifically to learn more about parenting.

Oh my! Were his eyes opened!
He began learning about being a father and I began learning about being a grandparent! And to watch him love, parent and teach his little Isis was very much a treat for me.

He is hers, and she is his, and it warms my heart to witness the bond of their love.

Oh, and she loves me a lot too, and that makes me very happy!
Sonia Rae and Xena~
I rescued Xena when she was in ill health, flea ridden, and very, very depressed. I felt she needed a strong name so I re-named her after The Warrior Princess. She has been a wonderful opportunity for me to practice giving healing love and to see it mirrored back to me. Today she is healthy, happy and quite the hunter!

I love how talkative both kitties are. We have some long and introspective conversations together—when no one is around. Though I am quite the meower, it is not something I prefer to share with other humans!
