...I knew that God had placed them there as warring angels...who believed in God and loved him enough to give their lives to his service. -- The Awakening Heart by Betty J. Eadie, p. 88 |

| The WAVES Gathering: A Report |
| by Sharon Robbins |
 |
 |
The WAVES Gathering was held in Rosemont, IL, near the O’Hare Airport. It was such an excellent event; everyone was filled with so much joy at being there. We had our own meeting room at the hotel prepared by our very own meeting planners, Kristen Foley and Barbara Diaz.
As I arrived at the hotel, my first sight was of many WAVES arriving and hugging everyone in sight. Some new (not WAVE) hotel guests got mixed up in the crowd and received hugs, too. Everyone seemed happy to be there. I, being a little shy, was a bit afraid to say “Hi,” but as soon as I did, everyone was like, “Oh, Sharon (hug, hug), I’m Debbie, I’m Judy…(hug, hug, hug). It was like being washed in love! I was walking on air after the event for at least three weeks. In fact, I tried not to talk too much because I was afraid of losing what I got from the event.
It was so nice to meet Betty; I was surprised I recognized her right away. She had her son Tom and daughter Donna with her. Tom is a very playful, humorous person who is easy to warm up to. (Sorry, Tom, if I let your secret out?!) Donna reminds me a lot of Betty. Betty, wanting to open up to the WAVES and give us an opportunity to get to know her better, was informal with us and bubbled with laughter easily and often.
We pulled together a music group a few weeks before the Gathering. Anyone who wanted to join us was able to sing along. Jim Fly played his twelve-string guitar, Henrietta played the piano beautifully, and Barbara Diaz and Erin Fly played their flutes. We also had a lot of vocalists who were leaders in their own community, like Juan-Marie James, Bernadette Zayas Lorenzo, and Rita Scott. I, too, played the piano. The most miraculous part of the music group was that we never really rehearsed together, but we pulled the music off beautifully. We sang “The Rose” and “The Wind Beneath My Wings” for Betty during her Friday night talk.
One of the most memorable things about Betty was the way she prayed. On Saturday night we all started to pray together for special WAVE intentions. We started praying at about 3 pm. We were still praying at 8pm and didn’t finish until 9 pm. That entire time Betty was standing (we were holding hands in a circle), but as we grew tired many of us pulled chairs up to the circle. I don’t think Betty moved at all, and she was wearing high-heels. I kept marveling that she didn’t complain. It reminded me of when Jesus said that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. (The weak ones being those of us who sat down, myself included.)
The teachings and healings that happened at the Gathering were all so wonderful. I truly wish the video recording of the event was currently available because I have forgotten some of the things that happened. The healings I noticed were those of the Spirit. We were all continuously washed with love at the event. It was very healing, and I’m certain we all came away changed.
Being a WAVE is such a blessing in itself. Do you realize what a miracle the WAVES are? We are apparently just an online community, and yet many of us feel like brothers and sisters because we communicate so often.
I’m already praying that each of you will be able to attend our next Gathering in Sacramento. I hope to see you there!
