...I knew that God had placed them there as warring angels...who believed in God and loved him enough
to give their lives to his service. --

Your Words Have Power
by Sharon Robbins
At the Gathering, Betty J. Eadie spent some time (at least an hour) teaching us about our words. I found myself laughing again about the story Betty told about the smell in Joe’s office.

I find my self always telling my son, Your words have power, be careful how you use them! And then I find myself at work, where I have a Christian buddy – who tells me the same thing. I say, my sales are down, he says - Watch your words!! Then my friend says (as an example), I’m blessed, good things are happening to me today!! Everything I touch is turning to gold! It’s really contagious; now many sales people are taking my friends’ lead and using the same words.

The most difficult part to discipline within ourselves is our inner speech, our self dialogue. Have you notice the part of you that talks non-stop?? If we ever slow down long enough to notice, it’s almost comedic. It makes no sense and yet that inner voice rattles on and on. Who is that talking anyway? Well it may be a parent tape or it could be our inner self trying to connect with our conscious self. Oops, there’s that word …conscious. We’re hearing a lot of talk lately about being conscious and the awakening. What is all that talk about anyway.

Is the awakening about hearing Betty’s message and following it? Many believe the Awakening is about becoming more conscious of who you really are in God’s kingdom; Betty certainly helps us understand more about our relationship with God. Being Conscious is also about becoming Aware. Aware of many things, aware of your habits that may be un-Christ like. Aware of your words. Aware of your actions….Aware too that one of the more painful and difficult things we can do in life is change ourselves. Painful, but often times it’s necessary.

Even in our prayers we can be more mindful of our words. When you pray, do not pray as one who has no faith in God. Your prayers should resound with faith, drip with faith, be over-run with Faith. Others who read your prayers should also be filled with faith in God. Because Faith is contagious. Our faith is not just represented in our words, but is a reflection of our inner self. If we truly have faith in God, everyone can see it. When we pray we can remember to Thank God for all the good things going on in our life. When we do, it helps us to pray in a positive fashion, and helps us to be more mindful of whom we’re talking to (when we pray).

When Jesus taught us to pray, he kept things simple. Our Father, who is in heaven, Blessed is your name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. For thine is the kingdom, the glory, the honor for ever. Amen.

When Jesus prays he first states his relationship to God, Our Father, and Jesus continues to fill His simple prayer with faith, who is in heaven, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done….Jesus acknowledges His Father the Provider – Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us, as we forgive others

Our Words Have Power. Let us each try to use our words to bless and further the kingdom of God Let our words become RIPPLES. To assist you in changing your inner talk to become more of a blessing to you and others. I know of an author who has written a book to assist us in using our words to heal and bless. The author is Louise Hay and the book, Garden of Thoughts: My Affirmation Journal. Louise Hay has written many books that teach us how to bless our bodies and lives.

And here is a challenge for all you WAVES out there reading this newsletter. If you’d like to contribute your words for our very own WAVES Affirmation Journal, please send them into the newsletter and mark in the subject line "AFFIRMATIONS". We can create our very own affirmation journal to bless, heal and create positive Ripples in our world. Bless you!
