...I knew that God had placed them there as warring angels...who believed in God and loved him enough to give their lives to his service. -- The Awakening Heart by Betty J. Eadie, p. 88 |

| The Will of the Father |
| by Betty J. Eadie |

 |
Following the will of God requires recognition of it. That can often be difficult when we do not always distinguish his will from our own. His will does not always make sense to us when we feel it, at first. Sometimes our desires or traditional beliefs get in the way. There are some distinctions that I learned while in heaven, and while they encompass more than I will express here, I want to share a part of what helps me to discern between the two spirits.
When the Spirit of God inspires, it is pure, giving, and honest, and no ego is involved. His Spirit can generally be felt by all or can be more specifically directed to those of his choice. His choice follows a perfect order. For instance, if in a group there is an acknowledged host or hostess, the natural order is that that person receives the inspiration. If the host or hostess does not (in your opinion) receive it, it is nevertheless respectful to remain silent and allow God's perfect work to unfold. The Spirit directed in this manner and produced our first Annual WAVES Convention.
Before the conception of a WAVES Convention there was a need among the WAVES to meet and to agree in spirit with one another. Through prayer, God¹s will was revealed. I received an email from Kristen and Barbara suggesting we have a WAVES get-together. I knew this was the answer to my prayer, but my schedule did not allow me another time-intensive project. Following what I know about the directive of the Spirit, I asked Kristen and Barbara if they were willing to take the lead and if they were that I would support them in it. They not only were willing, but they were excited, and the Spirit of God blessed them. I praised God that day because He led, and He chose those best suited for the job. Other WAVES came forward and offered their help because they, too, were guided and blessed to do their part. I continued in prayer and watched in utter amazement as the details of the Gathering came together. I praised God for his divine wisdom and support and was anxious to see who else He would choose and send to Chicago to share.
From the very beginning, there were many indications of His presence in the undertaking. Al, from Chicago, joined the WAVES only one month before taking on the task of finding us accommodations. He spent weeks looking before finding the location that best served our needs and at the price we could afford. The hotel was in Rosemont! Remember, my native name, Onjinjinkta, means "rose in bloom." There are too many other coincidences to mention here, but as the event continued to unfold, the energy of excellence and evidences of His care increased.
Now, I am aware that my perspective may vary from that of those deep within the trenches. They had their hands full, and the work was tremendous. Before anything of greatness is achieved there is always sacrifice. Life's achievements and gains always come as a result of offerings, efforts, and sacrifice. There was much sacrifice made by our leaders, but they forged ahead and did not quit. They became stronger, more moldable, and more flexible with each challenge. The power of God was with them to succeed. Those at the Gathering witnessed the perseverance and strength that the planners and workers were blessed with, and because of their blessing, all in attendance were gifted with gifts of love. Their efforts rewarded us all.
Articles written in this newsletter speak honestly of the Chicago Gathering. There was great joy in meeting and partaking of the Spirit of God with those of similar spirit. Each person gave of himself or herself in some way, and what was given was received with much love. The spirit of love influenced even in times of disappointment and disagreement. Not one occasion was without a lesson that taught us something of ourselves. All things mirrored what was there for us to recognize as either a strength or a weakness that exists within ourselves. How we perceive approaches who we truly are. From this experience, we were able to grow more as individuals and as a group. We gained greater appreciation of God and of what Jesus means to us. We saw that it is good to find direction and purpose in life, and that it is also good to share what we find in the ripple effect. We learned by experience that when the Spirit of God prevails, love abounds. And when we left Chicago we were full to overflowing with love, not just for one another, but for all with whom we made contact after the event. As we parted and journeyed home and that energy of intense love settled, we sorely missed the fullness of our love.
There are no words to express my sincerest love and gratitude to the many who took part in the Chicago Gathering and made it the successful event that it was. I eagerly await our next Gathering in Sacramento, California, where we will learn more about who we are and how to be better servants in this important and heavenly work. Each step carried forward by inspiration and hard work unites us and brings us closer to fulfilling God’s purposes for us as WAVES.
God’s continued blessing,
Love,
Betty
