The Adventures of Caterpillar Jones

Sure to touch the human spirit and magically capture a glimpse of eternity.
Betty J. Eadie, bestselling author of Embraced By The Light, has started her own publishing company, Onjinjinkta Publishing. The company's mission is to produce books which further explain life's purposes, what happens after we die, and how God's love can transform and heal us today. The Adventures of Caterpillar Jones, is Onjinjinkta Publishing's first book for kids. It is a story about death, transformation, and growth, as experienced first hand by a character every child will love and relate to: Caterpillar Jones, a cute, green, fuzzy caterpillar.
Caterpillar Jones, or CJ, enters the world as a baby caterpillar. Freed from his egg case, CJ meets Sammy, another young caterpillar, and the two become instant friends. Sammy is full of spunk and his greatest wish is to become a True Adventurer, to conquer every fear, and to enjoy life to the extreme. CJ, however, is a reluctant adventurer, full of self-doubt and fear. But Sammy won't be held back! He leads CJ through a series of wild exploits meant to cure CJ of his fears. They careen down hills in a pea pod toboggan, venture too close to the Tree of Life—home of the terrifying Great Owl, and scale the impossible Ponder Rock.
Seasons pass, and CJ and Sammy meet the two cutest girl caterpillars in all the meadow. CJ falls in love and marries, but even all of his past adventures can't prepare CJ for what happens next. The Great Owl of Light appears to CJ's sweetheart in a dream, and she knows her time has come to climb the Tree of Life and pass into the Owl's World in the sky. CJ is now confronted with the greatest test of his life—he must courageously let go of the one he loves, accept the fear of loneliness, and learn the wisdom of shedding the many tears which flood his heart with sadness.
The Adventures of Caterpillar Jones is a colorful and touching story about loss and the growth that comes from letting a loved one pass from this life. The three real-life brothers, Jon and Jim Hixson, and Joe Susick, write under the name J.J. Brothers, and they know first-hand about letting a loved one go. It was after they lost their grandfather in 1992 that they decided to write The Adventures of Caterpillar Jones. Through this, their first book, they hope that children will see life as an adventure to be embraced rather than feared, and that life's end is only a new beginning. That kids will be assured that tears of grief are good, and that love does not die when a family member passes. Rather, love goes on, pulling us along our own paths and adventures and refining and transforming us as we go.
As CJ learns, we are not meant to stay caterpillars forever. We are meant to grow and become more beautiful and strong through the trials of life. And with the wings of experience we can fly to new heights and wondrous places beyond the horizon we see today—places which children will be able to imagine more clearly after experiencing The Adventures of Caterpillar Jones for themselves.
